Holidays

Holidays are always festive and meaningful occasions at Temple Beth El. We start with the grandeur and majesty of the High Holidays with magnificent chanting by our Cantor and inspiring and uplifting words from our Rabbi. Sukkot is marked by a delicious dinner in our beautifully decorated Sukkah and the processions with the Lulav and Etrog. The holidays culminate with Simchat Torah and dancing with our Sifrei Torah outside in front of the synagogue.

Chanukah follows with Latkes and an annual musical program. Everyone joins in costume for Purim and Pesach is marked with the traditional prayers and foods. We hold an annual Tikun Leil Shavuot that is a night of study and cheesecake to mark the giving of the Torah. More minor holidays like Tu B’Shevat, Yom Ha”Azma’ut, Tisha B’Av, etc. are all marked as appropriate in the synagogue.
