Men’s Club

The goal of Temple Beth El’s Men’s Club is to provide Religious, Cultural, and Social activities for our Congregants.

We are members of the “Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs” (New York Metropolitan Region) where Synagogues located in the United States, Canada and Europe partake in many of the sponsored programs of the Federation.

Programs that occur on an annual basis are as follows:

  • Veterans Shabbat – We honor all our Veterans and invite Veterans from the Community to partake in this service.
  • Kristallnacht Remembrance Program – Memorial Prayers and a Presentation occur during our evening service to remember this important event that took place November 9/10, 1938.
  • “World Wide Wrap” Program – where we collaborate with Community Synagogues to teach Children and Adults how to lay Tefillin.  This occurs on the morning of Superbowl Sunday.
  • Northwell Health Collaborative Program – Congregants from six Synagogues and the JCC  attend a Medical Presentation given by Medical Personnel from Northwell Health.
  • Men’s Club Shabbat – Congregants actively participate in services;  our “Man of the Year” is honored; and a Guest Speaker is invited to make a presentation.
  • Yom Ha Shoah Candle Lighting Program – Congregants receive candles (with prayers) to light in order to memorialize Holocaust victims.
  • “Man of the Year” – A congregant is chosen every year to represent Temple Beth El and to be honored for his/her work with Temple Beth El and the Jewish community.  A ceremony takes place sponsored by the “Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs” where the recipient receives a plaque.

In addition, the Men’s Club sponsors programs where Guest Speakers present various topics to our Congregants. We also end the year with a Drive-In Movie/Barbecue program.

The Men’s Club of Temple Beth El has won “The Quality Club Award” given by the “Federation of Jewish men’s Clubs” for seven consecutive years. We have also won “Torch Awards”; both Gold and Silver Medals for specific programs that we sponsor.
